چکیده

Abstract Introduction The aim of the study was to compare two different techniques for closure caesarean uterotomy on occurrence a scar niche. Methods randomized controlled trial performed in tertiary hospital with inclusion singleton pregnant women scheduled, first section. We participants techniques; (1) Conventional double‐suture using running suture involving myometrium followed by superficial or (2) modified single‐suture technique alternating deep‐superficial stitches. primary outcome proportion niches >2 mm deep at 6 months' follow‐up transvaginal hysterosalinography. Secondary outcomes included residual myometrial thickness and niche measurements. Analyses were intention‐to‐treat. Results 230 women; 115 each intervention group. rate >70% both groups. Caesarean occurred 42/81 (52%) after versus 35/81 (43%) (risk difference [RD] 8.6% (95% confidence interval [CI] −6.9; 24.2)). Women group had more additional stitches closure. deeper than (RD 0.52 CI 0.01–1.02). There no other differences ultrasonograpic maternal clinical secondary between Conclusion hypothesized decreased as compared but did not observe techniques.

Pain vs comfort scores after Caesarean section: a randomized trial.

BACKGROUND The use of negative words, such as 'sting' and 'pain', can increase patient pain and anxiety. We aimed to determine how pain scores compare with comfort scores and how the technique of pain assessment affects patient perceptions and experiences after operation. METHODS After Caesarean section, 300 women were randomized before post-anaesthesia review. Group P women were asked to rat...

Modified Transseptal Puncture Technique in Challenging Septa: A Randomized Comparison to Conventional Technique

Background. Transseptal puncture (TSP) can be challenging. We compared safety and efficacy of a modified TSP technique ("mosquito" technique, MOSQ-TSP) to conventional TSP (CONV-TSP). Method. Patients undergoing AF ablation in whom first attempt of TSP did not result in left atrial (LA) pressure (failure to cross, FTC) were randomized to MOSQ-TSP (i.e., puncture of the fossa via a wafer-thin in...

Purse-String Versus Linear Conventional Skin Wound Closure of an Ileostomy: A Randomized Clinical Trial

PURPOSE Infection is one of the most frequent complications that can occur after ileostomy closure. The incidence of wound infection depends on the skin closure technique, but there is no agreement on the perfect closure method for an ileostomy wound. The aim of this study was to evaluate the incidence of infection, the patient's approval, and the patient's pain between purse-string closure (PS...
